11/20/2018 0 Comments Final Blog PostThroughout this class, I have learned to improve my basic skills as a photographer, and to challenge those around me to be better. Coming into this class I already had plenty of experience next to professionals, where I had picked up skills. This class was nice because I felt relaxed, and I could get credit for something I enjoy doing. It was fun to be able to review the basics and improve upon what I have already mastered. I think my favorite photo week was when I did "people". I had a lot of fun photographing my Aunt, who is a professional photographer. It was weird for her to be in front of the camera for once, but I know she enjoyed it. I thought my photos from that shoot turned out really nice.
Besides having positive experiences with this class, I had some struggles. I found myself running out of photo week ideas, I tried to do light painting because I had already done all the weekly themes I wanted to do. In the process of trying to do light painting and eventually not getting a single good photo from it, I dropped my camera on the hard concrete floor of my dark basement. My camera body was fine, but that is probably my lowest point of Digital Photo this trimester. The lens still works too, it ended up being just the lens cap, so I snapped a couple photos with it, just had to sigh, laugh, and move on, and also buy another lens cap for $20, not bad.
